TURN THE PAGE: LITERATURE WORKSHOP
The South Carolina Arts Commission and One Columbia for Arts & Culture are offering a virtual Artist Entrepreneur Incubator program, Turn the Page: Literature, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, designed to help South Carolina writers – including aspiring ones – learn how to make a living at their art.
Literary luminaries from across the state will share their experiences with the business of authorship, the hustle through which a passion for the craft of writing becomes a livelihood.
Join City of Charleston Poet Laureate Marcus Amaker, Hub City Press director Meg Reid and Pat Conroy Literary Center Executive Director Jonathan Haupt for a lively discussion on the treasure trove of resources available to South Carolina writers. Artists of all disciplines are encouraged to attend.
The workshop will include such topics as good literary citizenship, pathways to publication, working with agents and editors, the business of authorship and resources and organizations you should now. Cost is $10; artists who are teaching artists, have received individual artist grants from the SCAC (e.g., Emerging Artist, Fellowships, etc.) at any point, and/or are currently included in the S.C. Arts Directory may attend free of charge.

The AEI is a virtual series collaboration between the South Carolina Arts Commission, a sponsor of SCWA, and One Columbia for Arts & Culture, an SCWA partner. The Pat Conroy Literary Center also is an SCWA partner.
